The service

Barely Explained is a free game, offered as is. We do not promise continuous availability: the server may be restarted, updated or go down, and open rooms are lost when that happens.

Conduct

Descriptions, guesses, nicknames and chat are written by other players, not by us. By using the site you agree not to post:

• Illegal, threatening or harassing content, or content inciting violence.
• Hate speech directed at people or groups.
• Sexual content involving minors, in any form.
• Other people's personal data.
• Spam, advertising or malicious links.

Rooms are temporary spaces with no active moderation. If you are playing with strangers in a public room and someone crosses a line, leave the room. We reserve the right to block access for anyone abusing the service.

Player content

You keep ownership of what you write. Because rooms live in the server's memory and are discarded when it restarts, that content is neither archived nor reused for other purposes.

Third-party intellectual property

Titles of films, series, games and animation named in the catalog belong to their respective rights holders. The site references them in the context of a guessing game, without any affiliation with, sponsorship by or endorsement from those works or their studios. Cover images shown in some modes come from Wikipedia.

Advertising

The content pages display third-party ads. We have no editorial control over which ads appear and do not endorse the products or services advertised. Details about advertising cookies are in the privacy policy.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided without warranties. We are not liable for lost matches, reset scores, server downtime or content written by other players.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the game evolves. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
