Privacy policy
The honest summary: the game asks for a nickname and nothing else. No sign-up, no password, and we sell no data.
What we collect
The site needs very little to run a game. We do not ask for your real name, email, phone number or payment details, and there is no user account.
| Data | What it is for | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Chosen nickname | Identifying you inside the room | Server memory and your browser |
| Player identifier | Returning you to the room if your connection drops | Your browser (local storage) |
| Descriptions and guesses | Running the game and computing the score | Server, up to 24 h after the room's last activity |
| Room chat messages | Displaying chat during the match | Server, up to 24 h after the room's last activity |
| Daily challenge attempts | Keeping your progress for the day | Database, tied to an anonymous identifier |
| Player reports | Moderation review | Database, for as long as the review requires |
Rooms live in the server's memory, with a copy in the database so a match survives a restart. That copy is deleted when everyone leaves the room or after 24 hours without activity. There is no match history and no permanent archive of the descriptions you wrote, except when a report is filed (see below).
Storage in your browser
We keep your nickname and your game session identifier on your own device, so you do not have to type everything again and so you can return to a room after a dropped connection. This is not used to track you across sites, and clearing your browser data erases it.
Advertising
The content pages on this site display ads served by Google AdSense. The game screens display no ads and do not load the advertising code.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.
- You can also opt out of third-party cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, consent for advertising cookies is collected before personalised ads are shown.
Reporting and blocking
In any room you can report or block another player from the chat. When you report someone, we store in the database the reason you chose, the reporter's and the reported player's nicknames, the room code, and the reported player's recent chat messages and descriptions in that room. This data is used only so moderation can review the case and prevent abuse, and it is kept only as long as that requires.
Blocking a player only hides their messages in your chat. The block is saved on your own device and is not sent to us.
Android app
The Android app uses the same server and handles data the same way described on this page. It shows no ads, uses no advertising identifiers and includes no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files, and it has no in-app purchases.
The device stores your last nickname, language, current room session, description draft and blocked players. Clearing the app's data in Android settings or uninstalling it erases this information.
Third-party services
- Google AdSense — serving ads on the content pages.
- Google Fonts — loading the fonts used on the site.
- Wikipedia — the source of the cover images shown in some game modes.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. Since there is no sign-up, no personally identifiable information is collected at any point in the game.
Your rights
Because almost nothing is stored permanently and nothing is tied to your identity, there is no record to look up or delete. If you would still like something removed — a chat message, a daily challenge record — write to the contact address below.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes in how the site handles data, this page is updated. Worth a re-read if you use the site often.
